odditiesoflife: The Hanging Coffins of Sagada The people of Sagada in the Philippines follow a unique burial ritual. The elderly carve their own coffins out of hollowed logs. If they are too weak or ill, their families prepare their coffins instead. The dead are placed inside their coffins (sometimes breaking their bones in the process of fitting them in), and the coffins are brought to a cave for burial. odiescissorhands: Okay, since many of you are asking, here’s the story to how I got my backdrop. I’ve been a loyal fan for about 4 years now and have always respected Dahvie. I’ve met him multiple times and been to many shows. He has always been so giving and loyal to his loyal fans. Anyways, Dahvie was selling the backdrops and stuff for $100-$200 each and donating the money to an epilepsy charity. I wanted to buy one but didn’t not have that much money to just spend. I messaged him asking if he could hold one for me for a week or two so I could get money together and if he couldn’t, I’d understand. Surprisingly, he messaged back saying he’d pay for it and send it to me. I couldn’t even believe how generous he was. Dahvie and Jayy, thank you so much for this. I don’t know any other band that would do this for their fans. My mother has seizures and it touched me to know you donated to an epilepsy charity. I will always be a fan and believe in you and all that you make as long as I live. You’re an inspiration no matter what people say. Your true fans believe in you and that’s all that matters, you don’t deserve all the hate people throw at you.
